As a Sales Development Representative (SDR) at ShipIn Systems, you will play a vital role in driving the growth and success of our visual fleet management platform. In this role, you will work closely with the VP of Growth to build the SDR department.
Your primary responsibility will be to generate qualified leads and create opportunities for our sales team by effectively prospecting and engaging potential customers. You will be responsible for initiating meaningful conversations, building relationships, and setting up product demonstrations. Your efforts will contribute to increasing our market presence.
Prospecting and Lead Generation: Research and identify potential customers within the maritime industry who can benefit from ShipIn Systems’ visual fleet management platform. Utilize various sources and tools to gather contact information and build a robust pipeline of qualified leads.
Outbound Sales Activities: Conduct outbound calls, emails, and other communication methods to engage with prospects. Present the value proposition of ShipIn Systems and generate interest in scheduling product demonstrations or meetings with the sales team.
Qualification and Discovery: Engage in meaningful conversations with potential customers to understand their needs, challenges, and requirements. Qualify leads based on established criteria and gather relevant information to facilitate a smooth handover to the sales team.
Relationship Building: Build and nurture relationships with prospects through regular follow-ups and communication. Understand their pain points and effectively position ShipIn Systems as the solution to their challenges.
Sales Collaboration: Collaborate closely with the sales team to coordinate activities, share insights, and ensure a seamless transition of leads. Provide timely and accurate information to the sales team to support their efforts in closing deals.
Sales Support: Assist in creating sales materials, presentations, and proposals as needed. Stay updated on product features, industry trends, and competitive landscape to effectively communicate the value proposition of ShipIn Systems.
Data Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of prospect interactions, lead status, and sales activities using CRM software. Generate regular reports and provide insights to sales management to optimize strategies and tactics.
Continuous Learning: Stay updated on industry developments, maritime trends, and customer needs. Continuously enhance product knowledge and sales skills through training and self-directed learning.
Qualifications / Experiences
At least one year of experience as an SDR for a software company
Native English is a plus
Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field preferred but not mandatory. Relevant experience and a proven track record may be considered.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to engage and build rapport with potential customers through various channels.
Sales Acumen: Basic understanding of sales principles and techniques. Ability to articulate value propositions and handle objections effectively.
Self-Motivated: Results-driven and proactive mindset. Ability to work independently and take initiative in generating leads and opportunities.
Persistence and Resilience: Ability to handle rejection and maintain a positive attitude. Persistence in pursuing leads and overcoming obstacles.
